FORTY SPOTTED – SLIDER

Where the laws of physics = creativity.

BRIEF

Client wanted a 3 Shelf Free Standing Display Unit (FSDU) with header card to display their uniquely shaped Forty Spotted Gin bottle.

The significance of the Forty Spotted Gin bottle was explained as it sits upside down on its broad cap (to point south to Tassie) where they manufacture their gin.

The unit is to hold 6 gin bottles per shelf.

A standard knife line was suggested.

ENGINEERING

Whilst trialing the suggested unit, it was evident that further development was needed to ensure the stability of this uniquely shaped bottle on the shelves.

The unit structure was adequate, however, with the additional boot at the base, the unit became sturdier and stronger.

DESIGN

With the FSDU tested by the client, we worked closely with the graphic design studio “Sunroom Creative” who applied artwork to the final knife line.

PRODUCTION

  • Digital Printing
  • Profile cutting
  • Glueing
  • Kitting into individual sleeves with assembly instructions.

INSTALL

NSW Rep: “I found the stands super easy to assemble. Good size for the stores.”

RESULTS

  • Made from 98% Sustainable material.
  • Clients reported a growth in Sales following FSDU in the marketplace.
  • FSDU added to the brand awareness.

LOL DOLLS – PALLET DISPLAY

L.O.L. Surprise is one of the world’s biggest selling toy brands. We helped them design and create their very first Pallet Display for the BIG W Toy Sale, all at the height of COVID-19.

THE OPPORTUNITY

To help boost sales in Australia and maintain market share against a growing list of similar brands at the height of the BIG W Toy Sale, L.O.L. wanted to create something impactful to stand out in the marketplace.

The real challenge was in the fact the stand had to hold a wide range of products, be structurally able to hold extra product for stock replenishment and require minimal assembly from BIG W staff. The stands also had to be pre-packed on a pallet, with products in place and ready for transport.

THE BRIEF

  • Design a pallet display for roll-out in Big W Stores
  • Custom designed to suit a variety of different sized products.
  • Robust enough to travel interstate fulfilled with product
  • Strong enough to display products weighing 180kg (in total)
  • Shoppable from all 4 sides
  • Designed to display a specific amount of product to justify execution
  • Design, produce, construct, fill with products, pack securely and transport all
  • within budget
  • Complete lead-time = 6-8 weeks

THE PROCESS

  • Firstly, LOL (MGA Entertainment) provided a “wish list” of product volumes that would make the exercise profitable for their business model
  • The below is an actual sketch from the very first meeting
  • Using this information, we then created a complete range of dummy boxes to enable qualification of any designs we proposed for consideration
  • Due to the complexity created by the diverse range of product sizes we physically sampled a number of designs to test.
  • Essentially it all came down to a life-sized game of “Tetris” to refine the final display
  • Once the design was agreed upon, we then produced a final sample for weight testing as we awaited the final creative and actual products to arrive in the country

PRODUCTION

  • Plotting
  • Profile cutting
  • Assembling
  • Filling
  • Packing

FINAL SOLUTION

Displayed in store

OUTCOME

  • Successfully executed
  • Our client was very happy with the displays that were delivered instore and their effectiveness in engaging their target market
  • On the back of the success of this initial display they have subsequently employed Allprint to deliver several other campaigns
